You will work closely with pupils who have Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), speech and language needs, and other additional learning requirements. You will provide classroom-based support as well as tailored one-to-one interventions, helping students build confidence, independence, and academic success.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver targeted in-class and one-to-one support for pupils with ASD and additional needs
- Assist teachers in preparing engaging lessons and differentiated learning resources
- Promote a positive, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to support engagement and wellbeing
- Encourage social, emotional, and academic development throughout the school day
- Support behaviour management strategies and personalised learning plans
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and wider school staff
- Degree in Psychology or a related discipline
- Genuine interest in Special Educational Needs and child development
- Previous experience working with children or within an SEN setting is advantageous
- Understanding of ASD and speech & language needs is desirable
