A welcoming and inclusive SEN school in Newbury is seeking a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. This is an ideal opportunity for a Psychology graduate looking to gain practical experience before pursuing a career in teaching, educational psychology, mental health or other child-focused professions.
As a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will provide personalised support to pupils with a variety of additional needs, which may include ASD, ADHD, SEMH, learning difficulties and complex behavioural needs.
The Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant role will involve:
- Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis
- Helping students engage positively with their learning
- Developing positive relationships with pupils and encouraging confidence
- Supporting emotional wellbeing and behaviour management
- Using an understanding of psychology to adapt support to individual needs
- Assisting Teachers with classroom activities and interventions
- Promoting independence, communication and social development
