I am seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Music Early Career Teacher (ECT) to join a vibrant and supportive secondary school in the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham. This is a permanent position with an ASAP February start, offering an excellent opportunity for an ECT to begin or continue their teaching career in a nurturing and forward-thinking environment.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging Music lessons across KS3 and KS4, inspiring students to develop their musical skills, creativity, and appreciation of the subject.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach Music across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable but not essential)
  • Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Assess, monitor, and track student progress effectively
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Contribute to extracurricular music activities (choirs, ensembles, performances)
  • Work collaboratively within the Music department and wider school community
The Ideal Candidate
  • A qualified teacher (or trainee teacher) with QTS or pending QTS
  • An ECT or newly qualified teacher of Music
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Music education
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • A commitment to professional development and reflective practice
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities
