Join our dynamic team at a specialist school in Wantage. This school is looking for an experienced Mental Health Worker starting as soon as possible.
Your role will involve supporting the class teacher with general class duties, helping prepare lesson materials, and supporting students with their mental health needs. You will provide 1:1 support, encourage emotional regulation, and assist during lessons.
Your day as a Mental Health Worker will look like this:
- Supporting students with their mental health, helping them process and understand their emotions.
- Providing support in small groups or 1 to 1.
- Working alongside the class teacher to create a safe, engaging learning environment.
- De-escalating high emotions and helping students regulate.
- Assisting the class teacher to prepare lesson materials and maintain classroom tidiness.
The successful Mental Health Worker will possess:
- Confident, compassionate and positive personality.
- Proactive, taking initiative.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Able to de-escalate heightened emotions.
- Possessing an enhanced DBS or willingness to apply.
- Understanding of the importance of mental health support.
