We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Maths Graduate to join our school as a Learning Support Assistant, supporting students within the classroom environment. This role is ideal for a recent graduate considering a future career in teaching, education, or educational psychology.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to help students access the curriculum, build confidence in mathematics, and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:- Supporting students during maths lessons, both one-to-one and in small groups
- Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom management
- Helping students understand mathematical concepts and complete set work
- Providing additional support to pupils with special educational needs (SEN) or learning difficulties
- Encouraging student engagement, confidence, and positive behaviour
- Preparing learning materials and supporting differentiated activities
- Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to teaching staff
- A degree in Mathematics (or a closely related subject)
- A genuine interest in education and supporting young people
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain concepts clearly
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude
- Ability to work effectively as part of a classroom team
- Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential
- Valuable classroom experience in a supportive school environment
