Academics are currently working with a lovely primary school in Maldon who are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is warm, nurturing, proactive and passionate about supporting children to reach their full potential.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to provide engaging and effective support across the classroom. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting pupils with their learning both individually and within small groups
  • Working alongside the class teacher to deliver engaging learning activities
  • Providing additional support to pupils who require extra help with their learning or development
  • Supporting positive behaviour and encouraging pupils to become confident, independent learners
  • Building strong and trusting relationships with children
  • Helping to create an inclusive, safe and stimulating classroom environment
  • Supporting children with additional needs where required
  • Assisting with classroom preparation and general learning activities
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, support staff and parents

  • Experienced working within a primary school environment

  • Confident supporting children on a 1:1 and small-group basis
  • Patient, resilient and adaptable
  • Able to build positive relationships quickly
  • Confident supporting behaviour and maintaining boundaries
  • A strong communicator and team player

  • Passionate about helping every child achieve their potential

Experience supporting children with SEND would be highly desirable, although the school is also happy to consider candidates with strong mainstream primary experience.
