We are seeking to appoint a dedicated and passionate Learning Support Assistant to join our secondary team, supporting pupils across KS3 and KS4. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Learning Support Assistant to make a meaningful difference to pupils with a range of SEND needs, including SEMH, trauma, and adversity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work under the direction of the SENCo, Senior Leadership Team, and teaching staff to deliver learning activities and interventions.
  • Support pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, enabling access to learning and promoting independence.
  • Build safe, trusting relationships and act as a positive role model.
  • Support pupils' holistic development, including emotional, social, and life skills.
  • Deliver bespoke intervention programmes and maintain accurate records of pupil progress.

Essential:

  • Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant in a secondary school.
  • GCSE (or equivalent) Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths.
  • Strong organisational skills, including record keeping and running interventions.

Desirable:

  • Experience working with pupils with SEMH needs.
  • Experience supporting pupils who have experienced trauma or adversity.
