Are you a passionate ASD Specialist / SEN Tutor who wants to make a genuine difference to a young person's education and confidence? Academics are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated ASD Specialist / SEN Tutor to provide 1:1 tuition and personalised support to a student with ASD and ADHD in the Sevenoaks area. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced ASD Specialist, ADHD Specialist, SEN Tutor, Teacher, HLTA or experienced education professional who enjoys building strong relationships and creating engaging, personalised learning experiences.
The Role:
- Provide tailored 1:1 tuition to a student with SEN (specifically ASD and ADHD)
- Create a positive, supportive and engaging learning environment where the student feels safe, valued and motivated to learn
- Use creative and alternative ways of communicating, including visual supports, practical activities and kinaesthetic, play-based learning
- Develop a strong, trusting relationship with the student, celebrating their progress and achievements along the way
- Work with the family to support the student's development and progress
- Have the support from an Academics team member every step of the way
We're Looking For:
- Experienced SEN Tutor, Teacher, HLTA or SEN professional
- Individual with experience supporting children or young people with SEN (specifically ASD and ADHD)
- Patient, empathetic and nurturing professional who can create a calm and positive learning environment
- Provide clear explanations and advance notice of what the student has to expect
- Respect the child's need for space and recovery time when experiencing anxiety
- Engaging and motivating educator who can build a strong connection with a student on a 1:1 basis
- Excellent communicator with strong relationship-building skills
- Professional with a genuine passion for helping young people build confidence, overcome barriers and reach their potential
