We are currently recruiting for a Science Technician with a strong Chemistry background to join an Outstanding mainstream secondary school in Tower Hamlets, East London.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Chemistry graduate, laboratory professional or experienced Science Technician looking for a long-term role within a supportive and successful Science Department.
The Role
- Prepare equipment, chemicals and resources for practical lessons.
- Support teachers with experiments and demonstrations.
- Safely handle, store and dispose of chemicals.
- Maintain high standards of laboratory health and safety.
- Maintain and organise laboratory equipment and resources.
- Provide day-to-day technical support to the Science Department.
Requirements
- Strong Chemistry background - essential.
- Chemistry degree or related scientific discipline - desirable.
- Previous laboratory experience - highly desirable.
- Confident handling chemicals safely.
- Good understanding of laboratory health and safety.
- Strong IT and organisational skills.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Reliable, proactive and professional approach.
- Genuine desire to pursue a long-term career as a Science Technician.
Salary will be determined by the successful candidate's qualifications and relevant experience, and will be in accordance with the client's pay policy.
