We are working with a specialist school dedicated to supporting children and young people with complex learning difficulties, disabilities, and additional needs. Many of our pupils also have complex health and physical needs, and we are committed to providing a nurturing, inclusive and highly personalised learning environment where every student can thrive.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, adaptable and committed PPA Cover Teacher to join our team on a full-time, long-term basis.

About the Role

This is a rewarding opportunity to work across our school, supporting pupils from EYFS through to Sixth Form. The successful candidate will provide high-quality teaching and learning during teachers' Planning, Preparation and Assessment (PPA) time, delivering engaging lessons and activities that meet the diverse needs of our learners. The role requires a confident and flexible practitioner who can quickly build positive relationships with pupils and staff, adapt teaching approaches to a wide range of abilities and needs, and contribute positively to our school community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality lessons and learning activities across a range of age groups and curriculum areas.
  • Provide PPA cover throughout the school, from Early Years to Sixth Form.
  • Adapt teaching and learning to meet the individual needs of pupils with complex learning difficulties, disabilities and additional needs.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, teaching assistants, therapists and wider professionals to support pupil progress and wellbeing.
  • Support pupils' communication, independence, confidence and personal development.
  • Follow individual education plans, care plans and behaviour support strategies where required.

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Has experience working with children or young people with SEND.
  • Is confident teaching across a range of ages and abilities.
  • Has a flexible, creative and child-centred approach to teaching and learning.
  • Can quickly establish positive and supportive relationships with pupils.
  • Works effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Has strong communication, organisational and classroom management skills.
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
