We're looking for a caring and motivated Autism SEN Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and inclusive primary school in Waltham Forest this September. This is a fantastic full-time, long-term opportunity running until July 2027, offering the chance to make a lasting impact on the lives of pupils with Autism.

The Role

As an Autism SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll provide tailored support to pupils with Autism, helping them to access learning, build confidence and develop both socially and academically. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
  • Assisting the Teacher to deliver engaging and inclusive lessons.
  • Using positive behaviour strategies to encourage learning and independence.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement.
  • Helping to create a calm, supportive and nurturing classroom environment.
We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience supporting children with SEN or Autism, or be a graduate with a genuine interest in special educational needs.
  • Have a good understanding of Autism and the different ways pupils may need support.
  • Be patient, empathetic and resilient.
  • Have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Be committed to making a positive difference every day.
What's On Offer?

Competitive daily pay of £92-£120, depending on experience. September 2026 start. Full-time, long-term role through to July 2027. The opportunity to gain valuable SEN experience in a welcoming and supportive school environment.
