A welcoming and supportive Specialist School in Reading is seeking a committed 1:1 Behaviour Mentor to join their team as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity for a 1:1 Behaviour Mentor to work closely with pupils who require individualised support to help them engage positively with learning and school life.
As a 1:1 Behaviour Mentor, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with behavioural and emotional needs
- Building a positive and trusting relationship
- Supporting them to develop emotional regulation and social skills
- Implementing behaviour management and de-escalation strategies
- Encouraging positive engagement both inside and outside the classroom
- Working closely with teachers, parents, and external professionals
- Creating a structured, safe, and supportive learning environment
The successful 1:1 Behaviour Mentor will be patient, proactive, and passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning. Previous experience in education, youth work, mentoring, care, sports coaching, or a similar setting would be highly beneficial.
