We are currently recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a lovely primary school in the heart of Stone on a part-time, temporary basis working through a highly established agency. The school you will be joining is a welcoming, caring and secure environment in which boats from having a happy and supportive family atmosphere. The staff within the school pride themselves on holding high academic standards and a commitment to success for all pupils.

Your duties will be supporting individual children sometimes 1-1 and sometimes within small groups, making relevant adjustments on a day-to-day basis to ensure that the curriculum is accessed by every child. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, no two days are the same and that's what makes it such a rewarding role. You must be a proactive and flexible individual who can quickly adapt to changing and varying needs in order to support pupils in a way in which works for them. You will work closely alongside other staff members, liaising and working together to support the pupils within your care. The role may also include assisting with some personal care where required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Adapt quickly to a new classroom environment, in which you will be supporting individual pupils on both a one-to-one and small group basis
  • Maintain positive behaviour management techniques which creates a positive learning environment
  • Follow school policies and procedures, including safeguarding and behaviour management
  • Building trusting and positive relationships is vital particularly with pupils, staff, and parents
  • Uphold a professional and reliable approach at all times
  • Be willing to support pupils across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2
What we're looking for:
  • A Level 3 Qualified Teaching Assistant (at least)
  • Experience working with pupils in a classroom environment, particularly working alongside pupils with additional needs
  • Feels confident in holding responsibility when supporting pupils with additional needs
  • Is flexible, reliable, and willing to work in a new school environment
  • Has strong behaviour management skills
  • Holds an enhanced DBS on the update service (or is willing to obtain one)
  • Can provide two recent professional references
  • Is able to commute to Stone for work on a part-time basis
  • Is fully registered (or willing to register) with Academics

Pay £93 - £100 per day, depending on experience. Holiday pay is included in the daily rate.
