Versatile, Empathetic and Caring Individuals Needed to Support a Range of Students with Barriers to Learning. This is a great opportunity to become a positive support mechanism and role model in the lives of secondary school students across Kirklees. You will work as either 1:1 or with groups in helping young people with a range of barriers to learning, to access work set by class teachers and to navigate what can be very challenging days at school. Each day will bring a new challenge and also a new opportunity to help the child overcome daily difficulties and flourish at school.

A good Secondary SEND Teaching Assistant will be:

  • Someone who has experience in working with children.
  • Someone who understands the importance of safeguarding in schools.
  • Someone who is good at working with their own initiative and problem solving.
