Academics Educational recruitment is currently supporting primary schools across Wakefield and we're looking for a dynamic and proactive practitioner to work this September. This role is the perfect stepping stone for an ECT. You will gain invaluable experience across various key stages, deliver targeted intervention groups, and cover planned lessons across the curriculum. You will be well-supported by our senior leadership team and benefit from a collaborative environment perfect for developing your pedagogical practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Whole class cover: Deliver pre-planned lessons for absent teachers, managing classroom behaviour and ensuring continuity of learning.
  • Targeted Interventions: Lead small group sessions in core subjects (Maths and Literacy) to accelerate pupil progress.
  • PPA cover: Provide planning, Prep, and Assessment (PPA) cover giving you real teaching experience while allowing you to learn from experienced staff.

What we are looking for:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised HLTA qualification.
  • Confident and adaptable classroom presence with excellent behaviour management skills.
  • Up to date knowledge of the Primary curriculum.
  • An enthusiastic approach to professional development and desire to take on increased responsibility.
