About the Role
As a Learning Support Assistant in Rotherham, you will work closely with class teachers to support pupils across EYFS, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2. You will help children access learning, build confidence, and reach their full potential in a positive and inclusive classroom environment. This role may involve providing classroom support, working with small groups, or offering one-to-one assistance to pupils who require additional guidance. It is ideal for individuals who are passionate about education and committed to making a meaningful difference every day.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils in class, in small groups, or on a 1:1 basis
- Assist teachers with lesson preparation and classroom organisation
- Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in learning
- Help create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
- Provide academic and emotional support where required
- Support pupils with varying learning needs and abilities
- Follow safeguarding and school policies at all times
Candidate Requirements
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable)
- Experience working with children in a school or childcare setting
- Patient, supportive, and enthusiastic approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
