Academics are recruiting on behalf of an 'Outstanding' Secondary SEN School in the Cosham area of Portsmouth who have a need for experienced SEN Teaching Assistants available to work on a supply basis, covering daily, short and long term needs. If you are available full-time and looking for a permanent position, they often take SEN Teaching Assistants on directly after a minimum working period on a supply contract.
The working hours are 8.30am - 3.30pm, term-time. The school based in Cosham, Portsmouth caters for approximately 165 pupils aged 11-16 years who have complex learning difficulties. In addition to their learning difficulties, some pupils have other needs associated with autistic spectrum condition, speech, language and communication difficulties and medical conditions.
Due to the needs of the pupils, this is ideal for someone with previous SEN experience, or a willingness to work with children with special educational needs. As a successful SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be required to support pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis across KS3 and KS4. The class sizes are small so lessons are tailored to meet their individual learning needs. Due to their needs, they are taught a primary module.
