Academics is recruiting on behalf of a welcoming primary school in the Brighton area for a full-time 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to support a pupil in Year 4 from September 2026 .

This rewarding role offers the opportunity to build a positive relationship with a child, providing tailored support to help them thrive both academically and socially within the classroom.

The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support team to ensure the pupil receives the encouragement and guidance they need to achieve their full potential.

The Role Full-time, term-time only position.

Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil in Year 4.

Adapt learning activities to meet the child's individual needs.

Encourage independence, confidence and positive engagement with learning.

Support the child's emotional wellbeing and social development.

Work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents and external professionals where appropriate.

Help maintain a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

We Are Looking For Experience working with primary-aged children, ideally in a 1:1 or SEN support role.

A calm, patient and caring approach.

Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

The ability to adapt to the individual needs of the pupil.

A proactive, positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a supportive team.

A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.
