Are you a passionate Science Teacher looking for a role where you can make a real difference to young people who have struggled within mainstream education? We are currently working with a welcoming Secondary PRU in Kettering that is looking for a dedicated Science Teacher to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who enjoys working in smaller classes and is confident supporting pupils with SEMH, behavioural needs and barriers to learning.
As a Science Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and accessible Science lessons to secondary-aged pupils within a small, supportive environment. The setting provides a more personalised approach to education, allowing teachers to build strong relationships with pupils and adapt lessons around individual needs. You will be expected to create a positive classroom environment, maintain high expectations and use practical and engaging approaches to help pupils reconnect with learning.
What we're looking for in a Science Teacher:
- Qualified Teacher Status or relevant teaching experience
- Strong subject knowledge across Science
- Experience teaching secondary-aged pupils
- A confident and consistent approach to behaviour management
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils who may have experienced challenges in mainstream education
- Experience within a PRU, AP, SEMH or SEND setting would be advantageous
- A creative and engaging approach to lesson delivery
- Someone who is passionate about helping young people achieve their potential
£160-£250 per day, depending on pay scale and experience. Opportunity to work within a supportive secondary PRU with smaller class sizes and a personalised approach to education. Excellent opportunity to develop your PRU/alternative provision experience with a supportive staff team and leadership. Potential for longer-term and permanent opportunities with full support from Academics throughout your placement.
