Academics are currently recruiting for a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Margate. This is a full-time role, working 5 days per week, supporting pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs, including ASC, SEMH, ADHD, and complex needs.
This role would suit someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and is confident working in a dynamic and rewarding SEN environment.
The Role:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with a variety of SEN needs
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons
- Support students with their social, emotional, and academic development
- Help manage behaviour effectively using positive strategies
- Create a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN (school-based or transferable experience such as care/support work)
- A patient, resilient, and proactive approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
- Experience with challenging behaviour is desirable but not essential
