Are you ready to make a real difference to children who need a little extra support to find their way back into learning?
Academics are recruiting an enthusiastic and compassionate SEN Learning Mentor in Redbridge to support children and young people with additional needs who are currently unable to access a traditional school environment.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who understands that every child's circumstances are different and that progress often starts with trust, patience and encouragement. Rather than working in a typical classroom setting, you'll have the opportunity to support pupils in familiar surroundings, such as their homes or suitable community settings, helping them feel safe, build confidence and reconnect with education at their own pace.

What will you be doing?
Building trusting relationships with children and young people with SEND.
Supporting learning in areas such as reading, writing and maths at a pace suited to each pupil.
Helping pupils develop confidence, emotional regulation and independence.
Adapting activities to meet individual learning needs and interests.
Communicating with parents, carers and other professionals to support progress.
Celebrating achievements and encouraging pupils to take positive steps towards re-engaging with education.Who are we looking for?
You'll have a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs, particularly those experiencing SEMH challenges, anxiety or difficulties accessing school.
