An award-winning independent school group is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) specialising in SEND to join its thriving and well-resourced learning support team at a leading girls' school. The Role
- This is a senior support position, ideal for a HLTA with substantial experience working with pupils with a wide range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
- The successful applicant will play a pivotal role in supporting students, staff, and the wider school in raising attainment and ensuring inclusive access to learning.
- Acting as a core member of the Individual Needs team, delivering high-quality support for pupils with SEND across the school.
- Building strong, professional relationships with pupils and staff, modelling best practice and maintaining high expectations.
- Providing targeted interventions (1:1 and small group) to support progress in areas such as literacy, numeracy, communication, and social/emotional development.
- Supporting the identification of barriers to learning, contributing to assessments, and assisting in the diagnostic process.
- Leading on the development, implementation, and review of Individual Needs Plans, ensuring they are tailored and impactful.
- Contributing to statutory SEND processes, including EHCP applications, annual reviews, and exam access arrangements.
Candidate Profile
- Essential: Significant experience supporting children and young people with a range of SEND.
- Proven ability to develop, implement, and monitor Individual Needs Plans.
- Familiarity with EHCP processes, annual reviews, and SEND documentation.
- Experience delivering targeted interventions (1:1 and small group).
- HLTA status, Level 4 Teaching Assistant qualification, or equivalent experience.
