We are recruiting for a part‑time Higher‑Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a small, village primary school on a long‑term contract through a supply agency. As a dedicated and committed supporter of every child, you will assist teaching and learning across all Key Stages, delivering learning activities to both small groups and whole classes. You will lead targeted interventions, contribute to the planning and preparation of learning activities and monitor, assess and feed back on pupil progress to the class teacher. Your work will help maintain a calm, purposeful and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Confident in delivering and leading small group work/whole class activities.
- Demonstrate consistently high expectations of pupil behaviour, learning and wellbeing.
- Confident in managing and promoting positive behaviour strategies.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to support learning within the school.
- Monitor pupil progress and feed back to the teacher, supporting positive outcomes.
- Help to deliver teaching and learning in both small group and whole class settings.
What we're looking for
- Qualified Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), with a minimum of a Level 4 HLTA qualification.
- Valuable experience working across the primary age range.
- Confident teaching full class when necessary, and able to plan and deliver engaging lessons if required.
- Flexible, reliable and willing to work in a long‑term role through a trusted supply agency.
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Holds an enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to obtain one).
- Can provide two recent professional references.
- Can commute to a school on the outskirts of Stafford.
- Fully registered (or willing to register) with Academics.
Pay £95 – £110 per day, depending on experience and class responsibilities. Holiday pay is included in the daily rate. We would love to hear from you.
