Are you a passionate and experienced HLTA with a strong background in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? A welcoming and inclusive college based in Erdington is looking for a dedicated SEN HLTA to join their team full-time. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people in a supportive and rewarding environment. You must have over 2 years of teaching experience to be shortlisted for this role.
Responsibilities
- Support students with a range of SEN needs, both inside and outside of the classroom.
- Plan and deliver tailored interventions in small groups or on a one-to-one basis.
- Work closely with teaching staff, SENCO, and external professionals to support student progress.
- Promote an inclusive learning environment and encourage student independence.
- Monitor and report on student progress and contribute to EHCP reviews.
Experience of teaching in a SEN college/Post 16 setting will be desirable!
Qualifications
- HLTA qualification or equivalent experience.
- Previous experience supporting SEN students in an educational setting, preferably at college or secondary level.
- 5 years minimum teaching experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A positive, patient, and proactive approach.
- A clear Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply for one).
