An East London based secondary school are seeking an ambitious, passionate and experienced Head of Science to lead a successful Science department from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding classroom practitioner who is ready to take the next step in their leadership journey or an established Head of Science looking to thrive in a supportive and forward-thinking school.

You will have strategic oversight of the Science curriculum across KS3 and KS4 (and KS5 if applicable), driving high standards of teaching and learning while inspiring both staff and students to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop and inspire the Science department
  • Monitor and improve student outcomes across all key stages
  • Develop and implement an ambitious, knowledge-rich Science curriculum

  • Use data effectively to inform teaching, learning and intervention
  • Contribute to whole-school improvement as part of the middle leadership team

  • Be a qualified teacher with QTS
