Academics are seeking an enthusiastic and engaging Primary Teacher / Year 6 Teacher with a passion for English to join a secondary special school in Havant for boys aged 11 - 16 years. The school caters for pupils with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.

This is a full-time teaching position to start ASAP, full-time. This is a temp to perm contract suitable for someone looking to secure a permanent position. You must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

The school is a small, nurturing environment with a highly differentiated curriculum. They offer a wide range of extra-curricular activities designed to enhance the wider learning opportunities for their students.

All students have Education and Health Care Plans (EHCP) for social, emotional and mental health issues. Some students have additional needs which impact their learning, such as Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and Dyslexia.

The suitable person would be primary trained with recent experience of teaching Year 6. You will ideally have a passion for English and enjoy delivering English Literacy. There is also the opportunity of leading the English Department. Having experience of working with pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs / challenging behaviour would be an advantage.
