Attendance Officer in Gravesend

Attendance Officer - Gravesend Part-time | Temp-to-Perm | Start ASAP Academics Ltd are working in partnership with a welcoming and well-established school in Gravesend who are looking to appoint an experienced Attendance Officer to join their busy school office team. The Role As the Attendance Officer, you will play an important role in monitoring and improving pupil attendance, working closely with pupils, parents, staff and the wider school team. Key responsibilities will include: Monitoring and maintaining accurate pupil attendance records. Following up on pupil absences and contacting parents and carers where required. Recording and updating attendance information on the school's MIS. Identifying attendance concerns and escalating persistent absence appropriately. Working closely with teachers, pastoral staff and the Senior Leadership Team. Supporting the school with attendance interventions and improving attendance rates. Producing attendance reports and maintaining accurate records. Communicating professionally with parents and carers regarding attendance. Supporting general school administration and office duties when required. Maintaining confidentiality and following safeguarding procedures at all times. About You The successful candidate will ideally have: Previous experience working within a school environment - essential. Previous experience in attendance, school administration or a similar role. Experience using SIMS, Arbor, Bromcom or another school MIS. A good understanding of school attendance procedures and safeguarding. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail. The ability to confidently communicate with parents, pupils and staff. A proactive and professional approach to their work. The ability to work independently and as part of a wider school team. An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one. What We Offer Part-time temp-to-perm opportunity.
