A welcoming and high-achieving primary school in Newham is seeking a Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team from September. This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, and is perfect for someone passionate about education and eager to make a difference.
About the Role:
- Position: Graduate Teaching Assistant (Intervention Support)
- Start Date: September
- Location: Tower Hamlets, East London
- Hours: Full-time (Monday - Friday)
- Contract: Term-time only (until July 2027, with potential to extend or train)
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting pupils across KS1 and KS2 with literacy and numeracy interventions
- Working 1:1 or with small groups of children who need additional support
- Assisting class teachers with planning and delivering engaging lessons
- Helping to create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
Ideal Candidate:
- A graduate with a strong academic background (2:2 or above)
- Previous paid or voluntary experience working with children (e.g. tutoring, mentoring, youth work, classroom support)
- Passionate about pursuing a career in teaching or education
- Confident, patient, and able to build positive relationships with children and staff
