About the Role

As an EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant in Epping, you will provide tailored support to young children who require additional help with their learning, communication, development and emotional wellbeing.

You will work closely with the class teacher and wider support team to create a nurturing environment where every child feels safe, included and encouraged to participate.

The role offers the opportunity to combine your Early Years knowledge with your SEN experience, supporting children through engaging activities, daily routines and personalised interventions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support children within an EYFS classroom.
  • Provide one-to-one and small-group SEN support.
  • Assist with learning activities, play and classroom routines.
  • Encourage communication, confidence and independence.
  • Support children's emotional and social development.
  • Adapt activities to meet individual needs.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff.
  • Promote a calm, inclusive and stimulating environment.
  • Follow safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Candidate Requirements
  • Experience in both Early Years and SEN settings is essential.
  • Understanding of EYFS learning and development.
  • Previous experience supporting children with additional needs.
  • Caring, patient and adaptable approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
  • Enhanced DBS, or willingness to apply.
