Team Teach Trained SEMH Teaching Assistant – Specialist School Wickford, Essex

Working hours: 8:30 am – 3:30 pm (Monday‑Friday)

Contract: Long‑term with potential permanent after successful probation.

Responsibilities:

  • Build secure relationships with children and young people.
  • Understand the specific needs of children, especially those with trauma.
  • Support pupils with social and emotional needs.
  • Work 1:1 with the pupil.

Qualifications:

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willing to apply for a new one.
  • Excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
  • Previous experience working with children or adults in a caring capacity.
  • Desirable: care work, PRU experience, SEMH experience.

Start date: September 2026. The role will extend to the end of the academic year.
