Academics is seeking a motivated Education Consultant to join its successful Reading team. This role sits within education recruitment, focusing on placing teachers and support staff into schools across Berkshire, Oxfordshire, and Wiltshire. It offers a strong blend of relationship-building, candidate support, and commercial responsibility, with commission available from day one.

As an Education Consultant, you'll manage the full recruitment cycle: sourcing candidates, interviewing and vetting them, and matching them to suitable school roles. You'll also build relationships with schools, understand their staffing needs, and ensure high-quality placements. The position is fast-paced and target-driven but supported by a collaborative and experienced team, with structured training and clear progression pathways.

This opportunity is particularly well-suited to former teachers looking to transition out of the classroom while staying within the education sector. Your understanding of school environments, safeguarding, curriculum expectations, and candidate quality gives you a strong advantage. Instead of teaching full-time, you'll use your expertise to advise schools, support educators in finding the right roles, and make a broader impact across multiple settings. It also offers improved work-life balance, especially with reduced hours during school holidays, alongside significantly higher earning potential through commission.

What's on offer:

  • 25,000-30,000 base salary + uncapped commission
  • Commission from your first placement
  • Structured training (internal and external)
  • Clear career progression into senior or management roles
  • Supportive, high-energy team and strong back-office support
  • Generous holiday allowance and reduced hours during school breaks
  • Modern office in Winnersh Triangle with parking and strong transport links

This role is ideal for graduates, sales-minded individuals, or ex-teachers who want to stay connected to education while moving into a more flexible, financially rewarding career path.
