Academics are currently working with a supportive primary school in Chester seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to provide consistent support to a pupil with additional needs.
This isn't simply about classroom support. The successful candidate will become an important part of a child's school experience, helping them access learning, develop confidence and feel included within the wider classroom.
The role
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day.
- Adapt activities to meet individual needs.
- Encourage independence and confidence.
- Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
- Assist with transitions and changes to routine.
- Help the pupil access the wider curriculum.
- Build a trusting and positive relationship with the pupil.
This school is looking for someone who sees the child before the need and can provide patient, consistent support every day.
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- Previous experience supporting children with SEND.
- Experience working on a 1:1 basis - desirable.
- A calm, patient and consistent approach.
- Excellent communication skills.
- The ability to recognise when a child needs additional reassurance or support.
- A good understanding of safeguarding and inclusion.
- A Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent - desirable, but relevant experience will also be considered.
Salary will be determined by the successful candidate's qualifications and relevant experience, and will be in accordance with the client's pay policy
