Academics, an established Education Agency, are acting as an agency and are recruiting a Personal Care Teaching Assistant to support pupils within a specialist PMLD and complex needs school in Doncaster on a temporary, ongoing basis.
This Personal Care Teaching Assistant role would suit someone who is confident supporting children and young people with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and complex needs.
Position: Personal Care Teaching Assistant
Location: Doncaster, South Yorkshire
Contract: Temporary, flexible ongoing supply
Pay: £92.56 - £100 per day (dependent on experience, training, qualifications and client rate available, paid via PAYE - no umbrella company fees, inclusive of holiday pay)

About the Role
As a Personal Care Teaching Assistant in Doncaster, you will work within a specialist PMLD and complex needs school, supporting pupils with a range of significant learning, physical and communication needs.
The Personal Care Teaching Assistant will provide a combination of educational, personal care and emotional support, working closely with teachers and other specialist staff to ensure pupils are safe, comfortable and able to engage with their learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care support in line with individual pupil needs
- Support pupils with PMLD and complex needs
- Assist with learning, communication and sensory activities
- Support mobility and physical needs where required
- Develop positive and trusting relationships with pupils
- Follow individual care plans and school procedures
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding and dignity
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with complex needs
- Experience providing personal care is essential
- Understanding or experience of PMLD is highly desirable
- Patient, compassionate and resilient approach
- Comfortable supporting pupils with personal care and physical needs
- Enhanced Child and Adult DBS Certificate, or willingness to obtain both
