Academics, an established Education Agency, are acting as an agency and are recruiting KS2 Higher Level Teaching Assistants for temporary, ongoing supply work across primary schools in Doncaster.
This KS2 Higher Level Teaching Assistant opportunity is ideal for someone confident supporting pupils in Years 3 to 6, leading classroom activities and delivering lessons when required. You will help pupils develop their confidence, independence and core learning skills across a variety of Doncaster schools.
Position: KS2 Higher Level Teaching Assistant
Location: Doncaster, South Yorkshire
Contract: Temporary, flexible ongoing supply
Pay: £100 - £140 per day (dependent on experience, training, qualifications and client rate available, paid via PAYE - no umbrella company fees, inclusive of holiday pay)
Start Date: ASAP or a start date that works for you
About the Role
As a KS2 Higher Level Teaching Assistant in Doncaster, you may deliver pre-planned lessons, lead whole-class activities and provide targeted support to individuals or small groups across Years 3, 4, 5 and 6.
The KS2 Higher Level Teaching Assistant role may also involve supporting literacy and numeracy, delivering interventions and helping maintain a positive classroom environment. Responsibilities will vary depending on the needs of each Doncaster school.
Key Responsibilities
- Support teaching and learning across Key Stage 2
- Deliver pre-planned lessons and classroom activities
- Lead whole-class learning when required
- Provide individual and small-group support
- Support literacy, numeracy and wider curriculum learning
- Assist with interventions and monitor pupil progress
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or HLTA
- Relevant HLTA qualification or suitable experience for the role
- Experience supporting KS2 pupils is desirable
- Confidence leading lessons and managing a classroom
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Flexible, proactive and supportive approach
- Enhanced DBS Certificate or willingness to obtain one
