Creative Arts Teacher – Full Time

Academics are looking for a Creative Arts Teacher to start at a SEN school immediately until the end of the academic year. This position is full time and the school is based in East Birmingham.

The Role:

Academics are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Creative Arts Teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in visual arts, drama, music, or other creative disciplines and will be able to tailor lessons to meet the varied needs of students with SEN. All of the pupils who attend the SEN school will:

* Have an Education and Health Care Plan
* Have a primary diagnosis of Autism (ASC) and possibly associated Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH).

* Be working at or close to age related expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

* Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons in line with the KS2 & KS3 national curriculum.
* Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and encouraged to express themselves.
* Develop creative arts projects that enhance students’ self-esteem, communication skills, and social interaction.
* Work closely with teaching assistants and other staff to provide holistic support to students.
* Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
* Contribute to whole-school initiatives and extracurricular activities, including arts events, showcases, and performances.

What we’re looking for:

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)with a specialisation or strong background in Creative Arts (Art, Dance/Drama, Music, etc.).
* Experience working with children and young people with special educational needs, particularly in a secondary school setting.
* A passion for creativity and the ability to inspire and engage students with diverse needs and abilities.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a commitment to working as part of a dedicated SEN team.
* Flexibility, patience, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of SEN students.
