Mainstream Primary School in Keynsham is seeking a Classroom Assistant to support children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This role is ideal for patient, resilient, and compassionate individuals who are passionate about helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.
The school is committed to providing targeted support while ensuring pupils remain fully integrated within the mainstream classroom, promoting inclusion, emotional wellbeing, and positive learning experiences.
As a Classroom Assistant, you will:
- Work closely with teachers to provide classroom-based support and targeted interventions.
- Provide 1:1 support or work with small groups.
- Help pupils regulate emotions, develop social skills, and engage positively with their learning.
- Create a safe, structured, and nurturing environment where pupils feel supported to succeed.
This rewarding role is ideal for individuals with experience supporting children with SEMH or behavioural needs, or those from backgrounds such as youth work, care, mentoring, coaching, or education. Experience supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, or emotional regulation challenges would be highly beneficial but is not essential.
