Academics are delighted to be working with a friendly and inclusive primary school in Westminster that is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team from September 2026. The Role
- Support teaching and learning across Key Stage 2, delivering targeted interventions, covering classes where required and working closely with teachers to ensure pupils make excellent progress.
- Support children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them engage positively with learning and develop confidence both inside and outside the classroom.
Responsibilities
- Deliver targeted small group and one-to-one interventions across KS2.
- Support pupils with SEMH needs using positive behaviour management and tailored support strategies.
- Deliver Maths and English interventions to raise attainment.
- Provide whole-class cover during teacher absence when required.
- Work collaboratively with teachers to plan and deliver engaging learning activities.
- Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
- Promote positive behaviour and contribute to an inclusive learning environment.
- Build strong relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
The School is Looking For
- An experienced HLTA or highly experienced Teaching Assistant with primary school experience.
- Strong experience supporting pupils across Key Stage 2.
- Previous experience supporting children with SEMH needs.
- Confidence delivering interventions and leading whole-class learning when required.
- Excellent communication, organisation and behaviour management skills.
- HLTA status or equivalent experience is desirable.
