A primary school in Oxford, graded β€˜Good’ by Ofsted, is searching for a teaching assistant to join them this term. The position is available for an ASAP start with a salary of Β£89-Β£95 per day. Previous experience working with children in a similar setting is required.

The teaching assistant will hold responsibilities of general classroom support, involving helping the class teacher with preparation of lessons as well as delivery and assisting children with their learning. The focus will be on numeracy and literacy; however, extra-curricular activities will also be part of the role. The teaching assistant will work with small groups and 1:1 with children, for example, to help them with their reading.

The successful candidate must have a minimum of a C in GCSE Maths and English. The school is looking for a bright, enthusiastic graduate who can invest in the wider school community. It would be beneficial to have extra-curricular interests as well as being academically strong – for example, participation in sports, music, arts, drama, or theatre.
