A position has recently become available for a psychology graduate to work alongside an experienced educator and other support staff in a specialist school in Summertown. This school is highly regarded in their area and keen to make a difference in the way that education is received by their students. They are looking for individuals with a passion for mental health, and those up for a challenge.

In this lovely school, you will have the opportunity to work closely with other specialists, and be involved in delivering specific interventions that have been designed with each child in mind, to help them further along in their education. This school also makes use of restorative practices and pays close mind to ensuring that no child is left behind.

Many of the students who attend this school have been through a wide variety of trauma and have thus been identified as having social, emotional and mental health issues. They may also have trouble coping with other issues such as stress and anxiety which in turn leads to school avoidance. These children have also been exposed to adverse childhood experiences which has affected them. They need someone to come in and support them through their academics, as well as support their mental health.

In this role, you will support their mental health needs, teach them healthy ways to cope, healthy ways to regulate their emotions and how to manage their school work. You will play an important role in ensuring that no child is left behind!

To be successful in this role, you will need to be kind and compassionate and have patience. You should have a passion for mental health and looking to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable students. Those with psychology degrees or those individuals who come from backgrounds of sports, art, drama or music are most encouraged to apply.
