A progressive and welcoming primary school in Cheltenham is seeking an experienced Key Stage 1 Teacher to join their team from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for a confident and skilled practitioner who is ready to extend their impact beyond the classroom and take on a leadership-focused role within a supportive school community.
This KS1 Teacher position is ideal for an experienced teacher (not suitable for ECTs) who is passionate about high-quality first teaching, early reading, and phonics, and who is keen to contribute to curriculum development, mentor colleagues, and support whole-school improvement. The school places a strong emphasis on early literacy and phonics, including Read Write Inc. (RWI), and is committed to ensuring every child thrives academically and personally.
As a KS1 Teacher, you will:
- Deliver consistently high-quality teaching across the Key Stage 1 curriculum
- Lead or support phonics and early reading, including RWI
- Set high expectations to secure strong outcomes in reading, writing, and maths
- Support pupils with SEND and a range of learning needs
- Work closely with SLT and KS1 colleagues to drive improvement
- Take on additional leadership or subject responsibilities aligned with your strengths and experience
