Location: Tiptree, with travel across homes, schools, and community settings

Role Purpose: To support KS3 and KS4 pupils who are unable to attend mainstream education due to medical or SEMH needs. The role focuses on delivering personalised, trauma-informed support to enable successful reintegration into education. Work may take place in the home, public spaces, school, or specialist settings. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide face-to-face mentoring and reintegration support
  • Deliver home-based sessions, progressing to community and school settings
  • Apply trauma-informed and restorative approaches
  • Develop Harm Reduction Plans and Therapeutic Thinking Risk Calculators
  • Lead multi-agency meetings and maintain accurate digital records (e.g. MyConcern, Arbor)
  • Act as the main contact for parents/carers
  • Support pupils in line with individual needs and EHCPs

Person Specification:

  • Essential:
  • Experience supporting young people with SEMH and/or medical needs
  • Experience in SEND or alternative provision
  • Strong safeguarding knowledge (KCSIE)
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • High emotional intelligence, resilience, and empathy
  • Competence with MIS systems
