We are currently seeking an ambitious and inspirational Head of English to lead a successful English department at a highly regarded independent school in the Maidstone area. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced English teacher looking to take the next step in their career and play a key role in shaping the future of the department.
The successful candidate will lead and develop the English curriculum, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning while inspiring both students and colleagues. You will be responsible for driving achievement, supporting staff development and creating a culture where students are encouraged to develop confidence, creativity and a genuine passion for English.
The ideal candidate will:
- Be a qualified English Teacher (QTS or equivalent) with strong classroom experience
- Have experience successfully leading or contributing to the development of an English department
- Be confident teaching across KS3, KS4 and ideally KS5
- Have a strong understanding of curriculum planning, assessment and raising student outcomes
- Be an inspirational leader with the ability to motivate and support colleagues
