Do you have the resilience, empathy, and confidence to support children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are currently recruiting for a dedicated SEMH Support Assistant to join a specialist SEMH school in Canterbury. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with pupils who require additional emotional and behavioural support to thrive both socially and academically.
The Role:
As an SEMH Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students who may display challenging behaviour. You will work both 1:1 and in small groups, helping pupils to regulate emotions, build positive relationships, and engage with their learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting students with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour
- Assisting with the delivery of lessons and adapting support where needed
- Promoting positive behaviour strategies and emotional regulation
- Encouraging social development and building students' confidence
- Providing consistent, nurturing support to help pupils reach their full potential
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or challenging behaviour (education, care, youth work or similar)
