Academics are currently recruiting an experienced SRB Teaching Assistant to support Early Years pupils within a primary school in Caerphilly. This is a fantastic opportunity for a caring, patient and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who has experience working with young children and is confident supporting pupils with additional learning needs.

The Role

  • Supporting Early Years pupils with their learning, development and daily routines
  • Providing one-to-one and small-group support where required
  • Working alongside the class teacher and wider school team
  • Supporting pupils with additional learning needs in a nurturing environment
  • Encouraging communication, social interaction and independence
  • Supporting play-based and sensory activities
  • Helping pupils develop their confidence and engagement
  • Supporting personal care and intimate care where required
  • Following individual pupil support plans and school procedures
  • Maintaining a safe, positive and inclusive environment
  • Following safeguarding procedures at all times

We're Looking For

  • Previous experience working with Early Years children
  • Experience working with pupils with ALN/SEN is highly desirable
  • Previous experience within an SRB, specialist provision or primary school would be advantageous
  • A patient, caring and nurturing approach
  • The ability to build strong relationships with young children
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Someone who is reliable, proactive and enthusiastic
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs

Requirements

  • Enhanced DBS - essential
  • EWC registration - essential
  • Previous experience working with children
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Relevant safeguarding and compliance checks
