Salary: £170.00 - £260.00 per day (aligned with your current pay scale)

Academics are working in partnership with a welcoming secondary school and sixth form in Thanet who are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher of Travel & Tourism to join their team from September 2026 on a full-time maternity cover basis. This position is initially for 6 months, with the possibility of an extension for the right candidate.

The Role

  • You will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality lessons across BTEC Travel & Tourism Level 2 and Level 3 courses, helping students develop both their academic knowledge and industry-relevant skills.
  • Plan and deliver inspiring Travel & Tourism lessons to Level 2 and Level 3 learners.
  • Monitor and assess student progress in line with BTEC requirements.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support students in achieving their full potential.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues within the department and wider school community.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), QTLS, or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Has experience teaching Travel & Tourism, preferably at BTEC Level 2 and/or Level 3.
  • Demonstrates strong classroom management skills.
  • Has excellent organisational and communication abilities.
  • Is passionate about vocational education and student success.
