Do you have experience working with SEN children? Do you have experience with ASD or ADHD? A lovely primary school in Henleaze is looking for a passionate and dedicated candidate who has experience with SEN/ASD/ADHD to join their team as a SEN Specialist Assistant.

  • £90 - £100 per day, depending on experience
  • Full-time, Monday - Friday 8.30am to 4pm
  • Term time only
  • Bristol – BS9

Your role as SEN Specialist Assistant may include, but not be limited to the following responsibilities:

  • Working with individual learners in the classroom 1:1, or working with individuals or small groups in the Learning Support department.
  • Supporting children’s behaviour for learning in the classroom.
  • Helping children with their understanding of the teacher’s instructions.
  • Keeping track and recording pupil progress.

The right candidate:

  • Graduates who have qualified in Psychology, Counselling or Criminology OR a good education background (GCSE’s in Maths and English) plus prior experience as a Teaching Assistant.
  • Experience working with SEN children – for example youth work, support work, mental health work or SEN in sport.
  • Enthusiastic and passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with ASD / ADHD.
  • Resilient and confident to work with challenging behaviour.
