We, Academics, are looking for a suitable candidate to support as a Teaching Assistant for one of our reputable schools in the Birmingham, B21 area. This Teaching Assistant opportunity starts at the end of September 2026 and is a full-time role.
Location: Handsworth, B21
As a Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant your main responsibilities will consist of:
- Not only supporting pupils' educational development but also managing and supporting the classroom alongside the designated teacher
- Creating a positive and engaging atmosphere in the classroom
- Providing tailored assistance for SEND pupils
- Monitoring students and reporting to the designated teacher when needed
- De-escalating behavioural conflicts and recognising good behaviour in accordance with the school's policies
Teaching Assistant Requirements:
- Enhanced DBS (must be on the update service)
- Relevant qualifications or experience
- Willingness to complete relevant training continually when needed
- Confidence and flexibility in working with Year 3, Year 4, Year 5 & Year 6
