The predicted salary is between 24000 - 36000 Β£ per year.

Academics are looking for a highly effective, creative and inspirational Higher Level Teaching Assistant. The successful HLTA will be able to enthuse, engage autistic learners and support them to develop and reach their potential. The role will focus on developing positive behaviour support and therapeutic interventions for young students in Key Stage 2, 3 & 4. All of the pupils have an EHCP with a diagnosis of Autism.

All candidates must be qualified as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant or equivalent and be able to evidence this. Alternatively, a qualification for an NVQ Level 3 with a commitment to complete or in the process of completing the HLTA qualification could be accepted.

The successful HLTA will have:

  • Previous teaching experience and skills of working with children in KS2, KS3 or KS4.
  • Previous experience of working with children in SEND settings.
  • Previous experience of working with children with Autism.
  • An in-depth understanding of behaviours of concern, including functional analysis of behaviour and positive behaviour support planning.
