Are you motivated by supporting and helping others? We are looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to support children with severe learning difficulties, complex needs and autism. No previous experience is required. Interviews are now taking place.

This school is located in Birmingham with pupils aged 11-19, who require the support of a specialised curriculum to enable them to thrive and reach their full potential.

This Learning Support Assistant role is an excellent opportunity to work closely and network with other teams of professionals, gaining relevant experience, expanding your knowledge and skillset. This role will give you essential experience within a challenging yet rewarding setting - career progression routes include SEN Teacher, Speech and Language Therapist, Occupational Therapist and various Child Psychology routes.

Job Role and Responsibilities
  • Assist the class teacher in providing the learning experience of students
  • Behaviour and pastoral support
  • Ability to build robust and effective relationships with students
  • Practical approach to meet the individual needs of students
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Caring, compassionate, and a good listener
  • Willing to work 1:1 and in small groups with students
  • Ensure safeguarding of students
Start date and benefits
  • Start date ASAP, trial days taking place to ensure the role and school is right for you
  • Excellent on-site training, support and CPD is provided to ensure safeguarding of all students
  • £88.94 - £95 per day, Mon-Fri, 08:30 to 15:30, PAYE, term time only
  • No previous experience is required
  • If you have a Psychology / Criminology / Social Science degree, it's an excellent use of your degree
  • You MUST have right to work in the UK in order to apply - no Visa sponsorship
