Overview of the Aspiring Probation Officer role at a small, specialist school in Godalming, focused on social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. The school supports students to thrive academically, socially and emotionally. This position offers restorative experience and is suitable for Criminology and Psychology graduates considering careers in probation, rehabilitation, prison, or youth justice services.
You will work alongside teachers and specialist staff to support students with SEMH challenges and traumas, helping them feel safe, secure, empowered and capable of succeeding in life.
Responsibilities
- Provide pastoral and learning support to students with SEMH needs
- Support teachers and staff in delivering holistic and therapeutic approaches
- Build strong, robust relationships to increase engagement and attainment
- Promote consistency and positive behaviours to help students avoid negative outcomes

Additional Information
ASAP start. Excellent on-site training, support and CPD provided to safeguard all students. Salary £88.94-£100 per day, Monday to Friday, 8.30am-3.30pm, PAYE, term-time only. You must have the right to work in the UK; visa sponsorship is not available.
